Kirk Cousins had a bad game in Sunday’s home loss to the Eagles, but he had a chance to lead Washington on a game-winning touchdown drive with under two minutes to go in Teppo Numminen Youth Jersey fourth quarter until a controversial play derailed the Redskins’ chances.
Trailing 22-17 late, Cousins dropped back to pass and was hit by Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham, who knocked the ball out of Cousins’ hand as he was attempting to Darrius Heyward-Bey Jersey throw the ball. The football was scooped up by Fletcher Cox, who returned it for a touchdown, sealing an Eagles win.
White, who was expected to be the team’s No. 1 receiver this season after Chicago lost Cameron Meredith to a torn ACL during the preseason, managed just two receptions for 6 yards before exiting with the injury.
“My heart goes out to him,” Fox said, adding that White was “very discouraged and disappointed” after Sunday’s game.
White took to Twitter on Monday to share his frustration and thank those who offered their support.
White, 25, was selected with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. He missed his entire rookie season after suffering a stress fracture in his left tibia that required surgery in August 2015. In his attempt to make a comeback last year, he appeared in just four games before being ruled out the rest of the season with a spiral fracture in his left fibula and ankle ligament damage that required yet another surgery.
